JOZEF SKRZEK EAST WIND "Koncert zywiolow / The concert of the elements"
2008 / 2009
Wydawnictwo 21, 21.019

2. Freedom 8:31
3. Toczy się koło historii / The wheels of history are rolling on 12:08

5. Ogień / The Fire 10:39

7. Pieśń o słońcu niewyczerpanym / / The song about an unexhausted sun 7:48
8. Za darmo nie ma nic / Nothing for free 11:38
Jozef Skrzek: keyboards, synthesizers, voice
Michail Ogorodov: keyboards, synthesizers, voice
Beata Mankowska: voice
Aleksandr Ragazanov: drums
Michal Giercuszkiewicz: drums, percussions
This is the second band's album recorded live in concert - East Wind is just the band of members who meets
themselves from time to time during the live shows just to realize their musical fascinations. Their incredible,
impossible to describe music reflects their unordinary characters.
This time the band were invited to Mlawa town to play open air act for the Days of the Town. But the late night
show were impossible because of mighty rain, storm and thunders, which gave the true concert of the elements. So
the real show must go on the next day in the Culture House.
Since the first seconds of the opening piece "Thousands of Planets..." it was conspicuous that the musicians'
and audience's expecting and understanding bring something magic. The subtle, nice beginning turned into dynamic,
powerful improvisation with spontaneous applause. And so was until the end of the show...
The next, more quiet tune was the new version of "Freedom", with Beata Mankowska's mezzosoprano voice - new
member of the band. And the band came back to the rocking power with the next track "The wheels of history are
rolling on", just screamed by Jozef Skrzek upon the hypnotic, electronic underground.
Next three tunes were totally improvised: first the slowly, majestic, oriental theme "The Earth", sung by the
keyboard player Michail Ogorodov, then nervous "The Fire" with the opening two drum sets solo by Aleksandr Ragazanov
and Michal Giercuszkiewicz and at last beautiful, delicate electronic soundscape called "The Water".
So it was time for the charming Skrzek's composition to the words of the Pope John Paul II "The song about an
unexhausted sun", again with the beautiful Beata Mankowska's voice, and finally the well known Skrzek's song "Nothing
for free", where He demonstrated once more His brilliant keyboard playing and singing.
The album features this live show without any changes and overdubs; the only one thing we made was adjusting
the songs for the CD capacity. Listening to the mighty applause and the dialogues between the tracks You can feel
the unbelievable atmosphere during this concert.
So You are welcome to the Mlawa Culture House and the second album of JOZEF SKRZEK EAST WIND

Jozef Skrzek: great pipe organ, grand piano, synthesizers, voice
Michail Ogorodov: keyboards, voice
Aleksandr Ragazanov: drums
Roksana Vikaluk: voice
Michal Giercuszkiewicz: percussion
The three live gigs named "Tryptyk Petersburski / Petersburgian Tryptych" took place in
December 2004. The five musicians played in Planetarium in Chorzow (4th of December), in the
great Holy Cross Basilica in Warsaw (05.12.) and finally in Blue Note Jazzclub in Poznan
(06.12.). The idea came from Jozef Skrzek - the leader of the famous Polish band SBB - who invited
two musicians from St. Petersburg (Russia): Michail Ogorodov on keys and Aleksandr Ragazanov
on drums. The two next invited artists were: female vocal Roksana Vikaluk (native Ukrainian) and
well known from different silesian bluesrock groups Michal Giercuszkiewicz on percussion.
During the first show in Planetarium they played delicate progressive rock in space
mood, but the harder, jazzrock sound were also to hear. The concert in Basilica was without
any doubt the best one of these three gigs. The mighty church organ's sound combinated with
inspired voice of Roksana and really rocking drive of the musicians created the music of
incredible force... In the Blue Note the band performed powerful jazzrock with some moody
piano ballads of Jozef Skrzek.
The songs from the new album opened the new door in the activity of Jozef Skrzek.
This music is highly recommended for SBB fans and also for all who appreciate His solo works.

In the 70s Skaldowie were on top; they played many great concerts through the Europe
with their brilliant musical quality. Unfortunately there are no documentary from their 70s live shows,
except of the only one song released on vinyl by East German label Amiga.
So we have decided to release this album "The silence is crying - Leningrad 1972, an official live bootleg".
The thirteen songs, including their opus magnum - over 16 minutes long suite "Krywan, Krywan",
which is based on the Polish folklore, were recorded during the tournee in the USSR in autumn of 1972
on the amateur tape recorded, using one simple microphone. The sound quality is not brilliant
and we have called it as the official bootleg. But this is very nice bootleg, with the really better sound
as in many western famous releases. Anyway it is maybe the only one chance to hear how the band played
live in early 70s... Just listen to their great hits from 60s and - last but not least - live versions
of Skaldowie`s progressive rock tracks from the famous early 70s albums.
This album is released as digipack, with some rare photos from 1972 Russian Tour,
maybe also from the same live show. We have got it from the one of the numerous Russian fans of the band.

Roksana Vikaluk: voice, keyboards, electronic
Although native Ukrainian, Roksana Vikaluk lives since years in Poland.
Her unique crystal voice is to hear on many musical performances and festivals, she works
with many Polish musicians. Remarkable is her cooperation with famous Polish artist
Jozef Skrzek from legendary SBB group; Her brand new album with Jozef Skrzek East Wind group,
called "Tryptyk Petersburski / The Petersburgian Tryptych" is really very interesting.
The new album of Roksana, called "Barwy / Colours", were recorded during her solo
concert in Morag in July 2005. This is her really first author's work: singing and playing
on keyboards is she the only performer on this album. She also wrote some of the compositions,
the other are Ukrainian traditional tunes.
The music of Roksana Vikaluk is very inspired by the Ukrainian culture and its ancient
tradition, even from pagan times. The combination of early Slavonic folk songs (some of
them came even from XIII century) with contemporary, sometimes dark electronic sound brings
the unordinary atmosphere. The music could be interesting also for progrock fans, which are
looking for more complicated and sophisticated tunes.

Chris Lang: keyboards, synthesizers
Robert Golla: guitar, kalimba
Jo Mar Gardena: violin, percussion
Jochen Krajewski: flute, voice
This album of the famous German electronic wizard Wolfram DER Spyra were recorded
in August 2002 during the concert in his "Little Garden of Sounds" in Kassel, Germany.
All the listeners used the wireless headphones, so the musicians called it "Headphone Concert".
The music reminds the great works of electronic rock from the end of seventies - maybe
its best years, when Klaus Schulze recorded his "Trancefer" and "Audentity", but this album
came without any doubts from the XXI century. Wolfram DER Spyra used the modern electronic
equipment and created by Bob Rutman bow chimes (steel cello), while Chris Lang played on original analogue
synthesizers. The perfect guitar playing and unique kalimba sound generated by Robert Golla
with energetic violin and quite flute parts makes the sound fresh and really sophisticated.
The tracks were full digital recorded and mastered in Restek Studios in Kassel,
Germany.

the Holy Cross Basilica in Warsaw in February 2003. The music were recorded during two
midnight sessions in April 2003: in Holy Cross Basilica in Warsaw and in the Jesus the
King Cathedral in Katowice.
On the mighty organ of the Cathedral played Jozef Skrzek the new great instrumental work,
divided here into three parts: Overture - At the foot of the Holy Cross - Coda. This is really
contemporary organ music, enough far from the vain of his older compositions.
The rest were played on baroque organ of the Basilica in Warsaw; Jozef Skrzek also sang
and played here on several analogue Moog synthesisers. The two tracks are to hear for the
first time: "The splendour of His presence" and "Adoration"; the another four pieces are
well-known Skrzek's evergreens.

progressive hardrock in 70s style, with the sound of acoustic guitar, many flute and hammond
improvisations. All songs are their own compostions, except of SLY, which is the cover
of ATOMIC ROOSTER's song.
The music is rough and true, as the life of the young, unknown band from the little town.
This is the sound "from the fridge", as the music of beloved 70s groups: FREE, ATOMIC ROOSTER
or URIAH HEEP.
At the same time were released the new volume from the series Polish Art Rock - vol. 3,
released by Cracow label LYNX MUSIC. COLT played there the older, unpublished version

The sound quality is not that great, but maybe it is the only one chance to hear this
