AFTER... "Endless lunatic"
Poland 2005
Oskar, 1027 CD
Total time: 48 mins / 9 tracks
The first album of the new progressive band. Good album with nice melodies and arrangements.
Remarkable is the final, longer, instrumental track with Jozef Skrzek from SBB as the guest.
|
|
AFTER... "Hideout"
Poland 2008
Oskar, 1038 CD
Total time: 59 mins / 10 tracks
The brand new album of that Polish progrock band. Nice tunes, good musicians, but - as
always... Nothing news, no new ideas. One of the thousands of records.
|
|
ALBION "Broken hopes"
Poland 2007
Lynx Music, LM 25CD
Total time: 51 mins / 9 tracks
Last album, fourth in their discography. Neoprogressive rock with female vocal, ethereal
melancholic mood and some underground influences.
|
|
ALTERS "Mild"
Poland 2007
Lynx Music, LM21CD
Total time: 51 mins / 12 tracks
Sophisticated contemporary music, which combinates 70s jazzrock with underground and
modern prog. Very impressive record.
|
|
BEAM-LIGHT
Poland 2008
Lynx Music, LM 43 CD
Total time: 50 mins / 11 tracks
Beam-Light are just two musicians: female voice / keyboards and the drummer, with additional
next three sessions men. Music is something between modern pop, folk, ethno, some touch of jazz...
Very eclectic and, in fact, not very interesting - they are just beginners. All songs are
sung in English.
|
|
BELIEVE "Hope to see another day"
Poland 2006
Oskar
Total time: 55 mins / 8 tracks
Debut album of the new band, lead by Mirek Gil (ex Collage). Hard to believe, but closer
to sophisticated hardrock music than progressive rock, as performed by Collage. Very good
album, but not for all prog fans.
|
|
BELIEVE "Live at the 1st Oskar Art Rock Festival 2006"
Poland 2006 / 2009
Oskar
Total time: 79 mins / 10 tracks
Very good live album, recorded just after the release of the first record. Similar music,
but closer to progrock, with many interesting (violin!) instrumental parts.
|
|
CRYSTAL LAKE "Safe"
Poland 2008 / 2009
Lynx Music
Total time: 47 mins / 6 tracks
Debut album of the new progrock band. As always - nice compositions, nice arrangements,
but this is only one from thousands of similar records...
|
|
GARGANTUA "Kotegarda"
Poland 2007
Roadkill, RM-01 / 2007
Total time: 44 mins / 10 tracks
Avantgarde rock with violin as the lead instrument. Delicate touch of progrock,
some King Crimson influences... Surely not for everybody, but some listeners could be
satisfied.
|
|
GRENDEL "The Helpless"
Poland 2004 / 2008
Lynx Music, LM 39 CD-DG
Total time: 53 mins / 8 tracks
One of the many neoprogressive albums. As usual - nice musicians, nice arrangements,
nice production... but no good compositions.
|
|
LIQUID SHADOW "Spectrum"
Poland 2001 - 2003 / 2008
Lynx Music, LM 30 CD
Total time: 67 mins / 15 tracks
The album recorded during three years, with various line-ups. So various styles are here
to find: progressive rock with 70. rock influences, progressive hardrock, gothic, just simple
rock not far away from pop... The best are the parts which are close to 70. prog; the others
are not very interesting.
|
|
LOONYPARK "Egoist"
Poland 2008
Lynx Music, LM 35 CD
Total time: 50 mins / 8 tracks
Debut album of the new prog group. Very nice, very melodic songs, but all of them are
some copies of British prog bands from mid 70s and 80s. If You want more Genesis, Pink
Floyd or Marillion - this album is for You... But anyway this is a good record in a slowly,
dreamy mood.
|
|
METUS "New dawn"
Poland 2007
Lynx Music, LM 24CD
Total time: 51 mins / 11 tracks
Metus is one man band, driven by Marek Juza. His second album reminds me some dark,
melancholic songs of Deine Lakaien, especially because of the lead male voice, which sounds
like the clone of Alexander Veljanov. Inspired music, although some listeners could find it
monotonic...
|
|
MILLENIUM "Vocanda"
Poland 2000 / 2007
Lynx Music, LM 20 CD-DG
Total time: 70 mins / 15 tracks
Remastered first album of the Millenium's Three Brothers' Trilogy, with four bonus
tracks. Neoprogressive rock with all the pros and cons of this genre: good musicians,
perfect arrangements, but misery when You are looking for fresh, interesting compositions.
|

Poland 2005 / 2009
Lynx Music, LM 28 CD-DG
Total time: 62 mins / 11 tracks + 4 bonus

|
MILLENIUM "Exist"
Poland 2008
Lynx Music, LM 40 CD-DG
Total time: 53 mins / 4 tracks
Thge last album of Millenium, this time with only four songs. Long tracks, many instrumental
improvisations, but - as on almost all new Polish prog records - the fresh, interesting musical
ideas are missing...
|
|
MINDFIELDS "One"

Lynx Music, LM 26 CD
Total time: 50 mins / 8 tracks
Nice contemporary progressive rock, with fine tunes, interesting arrangements (acoustic
guitars, organ etc...) and good instrumental parts.
|
|
MOONRISE "The lights of a distant bay"
Poland 2007 / 2008
Lynx Music, LM 29 CD
Total time: 53 mins / 8 tracks
Moonrise is one man band, driven by Kamil Konieczniak, in four songs also with Lukasz
Galeziowski from Millenium band on vocal and - unfortunately - automatic drummer. Neoprogressive
rock as on hundreds of similar albums; not bad, but not great too. Recommended are last three
tracks - two short, instrumental miniatures played on piano and keys and the long title song.
|
|

Lynx Music, LM 51 CD - DG

Total time: 63 mins / 9 tracks
Last album of well known Polish progressive rock group. After almost heavy "surREvival"

RSC "Maraton rockowy"
Poland 1994 / 2007
Polskie Radio, PRCD 828
Total time: 59 mins / 13 tracks
The compositions for this album comes from 1984, but were re-recorded after 10 years.
They are just artrock songs with violins as the solo instruments, many guitar and keyboard
parts. Nice songs, but the realisation is not that great... This release comes with few
bonus tracks from the rare album released in 1984 on cassette only.
|
|
