METUS "New dawn"
Poland 2007
Lynx Music, LM 24CD
Total time: 51 mins / 11 tracks
Metus is one man band, driven by Marek Juza. His second album reminds me some dark,
melancholic songs of Deine Lakaien, especially because of the lead male voice, which sounds
like the clone of Alexander Veljanov. Inspired music, although some listeners could find it
monotonic...

|

Sadowski is without doubt the best Polish jazzy hammond virtuoso. The music on this

with the over 20 minutes long title suite including dreamy vocal and flute parts. On the B
side are to hear few jazzy tunes with more free character.

Poland 1978 / 2002
CD Silesia, CD 002
Total time: 72 mins / 4 tracks
One of the numerous live shows of SBB in the 70s. The band was here really perfect, they
played mainly two long suites from the great album "Follow my dream", which was an interesting
compromise between the artistic ambitions of the band and the requirements of Western producer.
Free progressive rock with many fantastic parts on electronic keyboards, but more disciplined and arranged.
Really fantastic music!

Anthimos on bass, while Jozef Skrzek played mainly Fender piano. The jazzrock side of this
famous trio.

Poland 2001 / 2002
CD Silesia, CD 001
Total time: 56 mins / 5 tracks
First album with the new drummer Paul Wertico (ex Pat Metheny). He determined the music
of the trio as the powerful jazzrock, almost driven by the drums. The album is not bad, but
the new face of the famous progressive Polish band is hard to accept by the old fans.
|

them are just gems with their softly, beautiful music. Recommended for all the true fans of
the band.

heavy rock with flute, vibes (Jerzy Milian!) and, in the songs from 1973, violin parts.
The later songs are closer to progressive rock; nice, but not interesting so much.
