COLT / SUCHI PION
The Polish group COLT were founded in Tomaszow Lubelski as the trio with Radoslaw Kopec on
guitar, keyboards and voice, Artur Malinowski on bass guitar and Adam Romaniszyn on drums.
Artur was soon replaced on bass by Tomasz Gros, but the first demo tape were recorded in
1999 again by the original crew.
In the spring of 2000 the band moved to Kielce. They played there some concerts
in various line-ups and prepared the new songs, which were recorded as the next demo in
RSC Studios in Rzeszow. In the six days of February 2001 the musicians recorded their first
album in UR Studio in Kielce, called "From the Fridge". During this session Radek Kopec
played also sax and keyboards parts, he took also function of bass guitarist in some tracks.
The special guest artist was Joanna Jaworz-Dutka on flute.
The music composed and performed by the band refers to the early 70s, when were written
the most ambitous and beautiful works of progressive rock and hardrock. So - besides of
typical for such music instruments: guitar, bass and drums - COLT uses hammond organ, various
saxophones, flute, piano and acoustic guitar.Almost all the tracks from the album were
composed by the band's members. The only one cover is the ATOMIC ROOSTER title "S.L.Y."
"From the Fridge" is an autobiographical story - about all the fate oppositions from the
band's life, about the people which are for material world and against the true arts. The
music with its hardrock and progressive roots is rough and true, as the life of the young,
unknown band from the little town. This is the sound "from the fridge", as the music of
beloved 70s groups: FREE, ATOMIC ROOSTER or URIAH HEEP.
The record released in 2002 and became very good opinion. The Polish issue of "Metal
Hammer" magazine named the band as "the Polish Gov't Mule"... The different, previously version
of the title track appeared on the sampler "Polish Art Rock vol.3", which were released by
the Cracow label Lynx Music. The another track of this release is the song "Marzenia Jurka
Kija / The Dreams of Jurek Kij". This instrumental composition of Radek Kopec were played by
the group called SUCHI PION.
SUCHI PION is an occasional studio project, inspired and lead by Radek Kopec. By the
recording in UR Studio he sung and played guitar, bass, saxophones and various keyboards.
He invited also three diverse drummers and - once again - Joanna Jaworz-Dutka on flute.
The music of SUCHI PION is totally different to the COLT's progressive hardrock. This is
the trip into the mystical 70s too, but on the wings of american jazzrock and psychodelic
jazz.
The new album of SUCHI PION will be released on our label soon, as well as COLT's
live recordings. Radoslaw Kopec lives at the moment in London, works as the session musician
and plays occasional gigs with various bands.

ROBERT GOLLA
Robert Golla was born in 1960 in Silesian district of Poland. Since his early years he learnt
guitar and has interest in the musical life of Silesia. In the early 70s meet the SBB group,
became band's friend and played sometimes during rehearsals. He worked also with another
Silesian bands and at last in 1978 he got in on the popular Polish blues formation IRJAN. In
1979 Golla became guitar man in the band of Piotr Janczerski and in Autumn of 1980 was invited
by Jozef Skrzek to play in his new progressive rock band.
The new Jozef Skrzek group played many succesful shows until December 1981. With the proclamation of
the state of war in Poland begun the new act in Robert Golla's live - he decided to emigrate to
Germany and stay in Kassel.
His skill and musical visionery allowed him soon to find a way into the German music scene.
In 1983 Golla founded his own trio TOO MUCH. They featured his own compositions in jazz, blues
and rock vain. The band exists until now, the last concert was in October 2005 in Kassel.
With the Ray Binder Band he played blues in German small clubs, with the pianist Roland
Oumard he created the virtuoso duo ESSENTIAL MUSIC. Robert Golla works also with the
well known electronic musician from Kassel Wolfram DER Spyra - one of the results is their
album "Headphone Concert".
In the Germany Golla has numerous chances to play with the international fames. First of
all it was legendary bluesman Luther Allison, but also the Chicago blues-voice Joanna
Connor, the EUROPEAN PROJECT of the American drummer Paul Wertico (today member of
SBB group), the Ex- "Dissidenten" El Houssaine Kili, German-American band MAC MACHINE,
lead by Richard Howell FUNNY DAZE band, Frederic Juliene from France. Robert took place in
the concerts of the blues bigband IREK DUDEK SYMPHONIC BLUES and played guitar on their
published in 1994 in Germany album called "A New Vision of Blues".
Another way of Robert Golla's musical activity are his solo projects. In 1997 he finished
with the first solo effort "Planet's Voice". This unusual sound picture, divided into twelve
parts called after zodiacal signs, was created on guitars and sound processor only. The impresive,
spherical, meditative but of incredible force music move the listeners to the atmosphere of
stars, planets, galaxies...
The name of the another important solo work of Robert Golla is "One To One". He improvised -
as always - on guitars, this time to the self-programmed sequencer tunes. The result went straight
to the analogue tape recorder, without any studio tricks and overdubs. Coming from the blues,
jazz, funky or even reagge roots the music goes its own way direct to our souls and hearts.
The album "One To One" were published by Restek Studios International (Germany) and is
available to order on our website. We have released the next two records with Robert Golla
on guitar: "Wojna Swiatow - Live" by Jozef Skrzek Formation and "Headphone Concert" by DER
Spyra. Soon will come out the next album: "Luxembourg Visit" recorded by Robert Golla Group
in 1993 in Luxembourg. Robert Golla with his German friends on bass, drums and female vocal
featured besides of leader's own compositions the songs of Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Eric
Clapton, Joe Cocker and THE ROLLING STONES.

ROKSANA VIKALUK
Although native Ukrainian, Roksana Vikaluk lives since years in Poland, where she have found
creative atmosphere to realize herself in music. With her unique crystal voice and
unbelieveable art of musical performance she is phenomenon on Polish music scene. Roksana
has performed at many musical contests and festivals, works with many Polish rock and jazz
musicians.
Remarkable is her cooperation with famous Polish artist Jozef Skrzek from legendary SBB
group. Skrzek's first work with her participation was "Kantata Maryjna - Live", recorded 1997
in parish church of Kazimierz Dolny and released by Polskie Nagrania. The next one was double
album "Jestes, ktory jestes / You are Who You are" with the 2000 live recording from St. Anna
Church in Warsaw. From the same year came "Slone Perly / The Salty Pearls", with Jozef Skrzek's
music to the words of his wife Alina. Roksana took part in some songs of this record.
The next work in which Roksana sings together with Jozef Skrzek is his record from 2005
called 'Viator - Znak Pokoju / Viator - The Sign of Peace"; the last one is our brand new
release "Tryptyk Petersburski / The Petersburgian Tryptych".
The music of Roksana Vikaluk is very inspired by the Ukrainian culture and its ancient
tradition, even from pagan times. The old Ukrainian songs became modern sound, they are
arranged and performed with the help of modern electronic equipment, but played with all
the estimate and attention they always remains the beautiful Ukrainian tunes. On the live
shows Roksana sings and plays Ukrainian, Tatar, Jewish and Polish folk themes as well her own
compositions in similar style. The combination of folk songs with contemporary, dark
electronic sound brings the unordinary atmosphere.
Roksana is the graduate of specialized music school in Tarnopol, Ukraine and Jazz
College in Warsaw at Ewa Bem vocal class. Last year she finished the study at the Academy of Music
in Katowice.
In the 2002 Jazz Forum Records released the first album of Roksana Vikaluk Quintet called
"Mizrah", with jazzy oriented music in oriental style. The brand new album of Roksana called
"Barwy / Colours" and were recorded during her solo concert in Morag in July 2005. This is
her really first author's work: singing and playing on keyboards is she the only musician on
this album. She also wrote some of the compositions, the other are Ukrainian traditional
tunes.
The music is sometimes close to the folk style, sometimes You could hear contemporary
electronic sound. The album "Barwy" is recommended for folk lovers as well as for those
about to electronic rock or dark ambient tunes. The music could be interesting also for
progrock fans, which are looking for mostly complicated and sophisticated titles.

JOZEF SKRZEK
Probably all the true rock fans in Poland knows the name of Jozef Skrzek. The founder and
leader of the legendary progressive rock group SBB is also well known from his great solo
works. His very rich and extensive biography is to find on his own website. We would to
present here only the albums of Jozef Skrzek released on our label.
Our cooperation with Jozef Skrzek begun with the album "Koncert Swietokrzyski / The Holy
Cross Concert". This work were recorded live in Skrzek's concert in Holy Cross Basilica
in Warsaw in February 1983, after the holy mass for our country during state of war period.
At this unusual evening Skrzek performed on the classical pipe organ and several additional
keyboards his own well known compositions. This is the first one live document of
his solo gigs from the 80s, released at last nearly 20 years later.
The next year brought the next solo work of Jozef Skrzek on our label - the album called
"U stop Krzyza / At the Foot of the Holy Cross...". All the tracks were recorded during two
midnight sessions in April 2003: in Holy Cross Basilica in Warsaw and in the Cathedral in
Katowice. The music is - as on previous Skrzek's works - combination of the mighty organ sound
with electronic equipment, but his compositions for classical organ only are also to hear. The consequence is
very inspired and touching music, far from rock vain and closer to contemporary organ music.
In the 2004 we have published the album "Wojna Swiatow / War of the Worlds - Live", which
were the documentary from the Czechoslovak 1981 tour of the Jozef Skrzek's new group. SBB
were disbanded for many years in the end of 1980 and Skrzek begun to play with another
musicians. In 1981 they recorded the new album "Wojna Swiatow - Nastepne Stulecie / War of
the Worlds - The Next Century". Besides the songs from this record the band played some tracks
from SBB and Skrzek solo works. All the stuff were recorded on amateur equipment, but it
is the only one live documentary of this formation, which were soon disbanded in consequence of
the state of war in Poland and personal trouble of the musicians.
The new album of Jozef Skrzek were recorded live during three concerts in
December of 2004 together with four additional artists. The idea came from Skrzek, who
invited two musicians from St. Petersburg (Russia), where they have playing together on
international SKIF Festival in 2003: Michail Ogorodov on keys and Aleksandr Ragazanov on drums.
The two next artists were: female vocal Roksana Vikaluk (native Ukrainian) and well known from
different silesian bluesrock groups Michal Giercuszkiewicz on percussion.
The unusual band featured the unusual music: highly intuitive, full of improvisations of
every band's member led by Jozef Skrzek. Every act has its own, different mood, as different
was the characters of the gig's halls. The first one took place in Planetarium in Chorzow,
with the delicate, sophisticated "space" sound and some even oriental touch, but the harder,
jazzrock themes were also to hear. The last act of this tryptych was in Blue Note jazzclub in
Poznan, where the band performed powerful jazzrock with some moody piano ballads of the leader.
The most inspired and interesting was the second act, performed in Holy Cross Basilica
in Warsaw. Jozef Skrzek played mainly on the great organ of Basilica and additional two
analogue Moog synths, while Michail Ogorodov attended the rest of electronic keyboards.
Aleksandr Ragazanov's drumming was here most "symphonic" and not so hard and powerful as
usual. The subtle but with decisive rocking drive percussion of Michal Gier and ispired
vocals of Roksana was a perfect complement. This music is rich and mystical, spiritualized but
with powerful rocking expression, really of incredible force.
The brand new, just released album called "Tryptyk Petersburski / The Petersburgian Tryptych" includes
the music from near six hours recorded on these three concerts.

WOLFRAM DER SPYRA
Wolfram DER Spyra is beyond argument one of the best and well known German electronic
music artists nowadays. Many people says he's most talented electronic wizard since Klaus
Schulze aera... Wolfram lives and works in two German cities: in Kassel, where he was born
in 1960 and completed the Free Arts Study and in Berlin, where he is just organizing his own
studio.
His activity is very extensive. Besides the music he takes place in many performances,
live shows, sound installations, exhibitions all over Europe. Spyra started already in 1986
with his first performance in Kassel. There was numerous events until yet, including the
gig during Love Parade in Berlin, support programs by legendary modern art exhibition "Documenta"
in Kassel or live music to various theatre performances. Remarkable is his idea of "Acoustic
City Maps" - some kind of catalogues of the most characteristical sounds from selected cities.
The first one was the audio map of Kassel, the others are Budapest, Frankfurt am Main and Vauxhall -
district of London.
The first solo album of Wolfram DER Spyra, called "Homelistening is killing Clubs", were
released in 1995. Until now He published over 10 full author's
works, four records with Pete Namlook under the title "Virtual Vices 1 - 4" and
the album with Chris Lang, called "Achtundsechzig 24".
The album "Headphone Concert" is the live recording from an unusual concert, which was support
program to the modern art exhibition "Documenta XI" in Kassel. The band played in the
glass room inside the garden and all the listeners used the wireless headphones to hear the
music. So the musicians called it "Headphone Concert".
Wolfram DER Spyra featured the music which comes directly from the Berlin School of
electronic music. But thanks the sound of modern electronic equipment combinated with
analogue synths, guitar, flute, violins, kalimba, several percussions or at last created
by Bob Rutman such unusual instrument as bow chimes (steel cello) his music explores its wide
boundaries.
